Encinitas was incorporated in 1986 by joining Old Encinitas, New Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff-by-the-Sea and Olivenhain, and epoxy flooring in Encinitas still depends on which of those you live in. Encinitas averages about 10 inches of rain a year and a daily high around 72 degrees. In late spring, the marine layer brings gray mornings to the coastal side. We check the slab before each coat on those days. Inland in Olivenhain, mornings usually clear sooner.

New Encinitas and family homes

New Encinitas, including Village Park, sits inland of the low coastal ridge that divides it from Old Encinitas. Many garages there look a lot like garages anywhere in North County: cars, bikes, storage shelves and sometimes a gym. A full flake floor is our usual suggestion there, with a polyaspartic topcoat if the door faces west and stays open in the afternoon.
